Tyler Pearce

Tyler Pearce is an abstract acrylic painter based in the Seacoast area of New Hampshire. Working in acrylics allows him to move quickly and push thoughts into paintings, something more tangible before they fade. Geometric shapes, curves, patterns, and vibrant colors highlight his desire to find beauty in the highs and lows of life while continuing to learn about the world ahead. Growing up queer and coming from a Japanese background, Tyler finds serenity in being able to explain and explore identity and the self through art as opposed to words.

“In my paintings, above anything, I’m trying to make sense of myself and the world around me,” said Pearce. “The hills and people of San Francisco led me to abstract painting, where my mania has a vessel be set loose and used as a tool of creation as opposed to spreading into an uncontrolled wildfire. My paintings give me something to focus on that once finished I can look back on and gain a deeper understanding of life experiences and trauma.”
