Community Center
The James W. Foley Memorial Community Center features selections from the museum’s permanent collection, displayed throughout the main corridors and Suite 135. The collection includes more than 200 works of contemporary painting, sculpture, photography, and works on paper. Each piece is labeled with an identification number that links to additional details online or through the museum’s free mobile app.
In addition to the permanent collection, the Bernier Room hosts rotating exhibitions featuring a variety of artists. The gallery is named in honor of former Rochester Mayor Harvey E. Bernier for his strong support of the arts. The Pixel Room is a 120-square-foot gallery dedicated to digital art, featuring international artists on a 4K UHD LED screen.
All exhibitions are curated and maintained entirely by volunteers. With no paid staff, the museum relies on a dedicated team to install, monitor, and promote the art on view. Many works are loaned or generously donated by artists. Exhibits are self-guided and monitored by the City of Rochester with video surveillance. The building is closed on all national holidays, and hours are subject to change without notice. Visitors are encouraged to check social media for updates.
