Spenser Macleod is a Portland-based artist from Maine with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from the Maine College of Art. His work, inspired by vintage pop culture and advertising, features vibrant colors, juxtaposed shapes, characters, and typography, engaging audiences with a fresh perspective on contemporary culture. As he notes, “My work is heavily inspired by an array of vintage pop culture and advertisement. I enjoy the vibrant colors, juxtaposed shapes, characters, and typography of the past and use it in my own work to enthusiastically engage with my audience in regards to today’s culture and influences.”
Spenser’s art is visible throughout New England, including murals, commissioned designs, and illustrative works for various clients. Despite his success, he remains grounded, living with his fiancé and daughter in Portland, Maine. His dedication and hard work serve as a testament to his success in the arts.
