Kevin J. Kintner’s artistic journey began in the rural landscapes of Pennsylvania, where his early inspirations were nature, cows, and comic books. At 18, he moved to Buffalo, NY, taking on low-paying jobs that infused his work with urban influences. By 21, he embarked on his academic path, earning a BFA from Buffalo State College and an MFA from UMASS Amherst.
Throughout the decades, Kevin’s life was a tapestry of diverse experiences and relocations, including stints in Chicago, Oregon, Toronto, British Columbia, Winnipeg, New Orleans, Alaska, and New Hampshire. His career choices, though not lucrative, were fulfilling—ranging from environmentalist and peace activist to director of the largest soup kitchen in Chicago and program director of a homeless shelter.
Kevin’s adventures were as varied as his jobs, from piloting inflatable boats alongside aircraft carriers and camping on the Arctic Ocean to climbing mountains and addressing assemblies of over 500 people. These rich experiences inevitably influenced his art, which has been showcased in prestigious venues like the Albright-Knox Museum in Buffalo and galleries in Toronto, Winnipeg, and Chicago. His paintings, cherished by owners across the US and Canada, continue to reflect the depth and diversity of his life’s journey.
