Heather Macleod is a multi-talented artist with a diverse range of artistic expressions. Inspired by the natural beauty that surrounds her, Heather specializes in painting landscapes on silk, using dyes to create vibrant and unique pieces. She explains, “I love to paint landscapes on silk. The vibrancy of the colors in the dyes is like nothing else I can create with other mediums. Inspired by the views of Arran, mountains, forest, seascape, and machair, the inspiration is endless.”
In addition to her silk paintings, Heather also creates darker steampunk pieces that involve musical instruments, clock pieces, engine parts, and more. This 3D style features interesting shapes and textures and combines materials such as wood, copper, brass, and slate. Heather describes her steampunk creations as “exciting to interlace into a collage of colors and density.”
To complete her artistry, Heather also offers bespoke picture framing services, using quality wood moldings and conservation mounts. Her framing work is as unique and creative as her paintings, and she takes great pride in providing a high-quality service to her clients.
Heather’s art has been showcased in various exhibitions throughout Scotland and has been well-received by both critics and collectors. Her artistic versatility and unique style make her a sought-after artist in her community.
