Carolyn is a Kentucky native who has made a name for herself in the art scene of Austin, Texas. She is a multi-talented artist who works in a variety of mediums, including printmaking, painting, knitting, and gardening. Her fine art prints and home decor pieces are equally stunning, each with its own unique inspiration.

After earning her BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2003 and a MA in printmaking from the University of Louisville in 2008, Carolyn has exhibited her work extensively throughout Texas. She is a regular participant in the East Austin Studio Tour and West Austin Studio Tour and is an active member of the Women Printmakers of Austin.

Carolyn’s fine art is characterized by dreamy, layered landscapes that capture the history and memory of a place. Her bold, graphic woodcuts are inspired by rediscovering familiar foods during her travels. Speaking about her work, Carolyn says, “I’m interested in the intersection between the natural and the man-made. The way we shape the land and the way the land shapes us. My prints explore that tension.”

In addition to her work in fine art, Carolyn runs an online store called Kimball Prints, where she sells her line of modern home decor inspired by the beauty of the natural world. Her work can also be found in the permanent collection of the Rochester Museum of Fine Arts, as well as in private collections in the United States, England, and Kuwait. Carolyn’s dedication to her craft is evident in every piece she creates, and she continues to inspire others with her unique vision and talent.
