The Rochester Museum of Fine Arts is pleased to announce “Specimens”, an art exhibition featuring works by Peter Sandback in the Bernier Room at the James W. Foley Memorial Community Center, beginning November 9, 2026.
Peter Sandback is a photographer and furniture maker based in southern New Hampshire. He earned his MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1992. For more than 25 years, he has built a career as a professional furniture maker, recognized for his thoughtful craftsmanship and refined design. Alongside this practice, Sandback has steadily returned to his first vocation as an artist. His current photographic work explores natural history museums—spaces where science, wonder, and death intersect.
“Specimens” will be on display until February 5, 2027, with a reception planned for December 5, 2026 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The public is encouraged to attend.
