Lynn Miller

Lynn Miller is a multifaceted artist and academic, born and raised in Dodge City, Kansas. Miller earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Kansas before pursuing post-graduate work at the Institut de Hautes Etudes Internationales in Geneva, Switzerland. He later completed a Ph.D. in Politics at Princeton University.

Miller began his academic career at UCLA before moving to Philadelphia to teach at Temple University, where he spent many happy and productive years. He is now a Professor Emeritus of Political Science at Temple. Along the way, Miller discovered that Philadelphia had become his hometown.

After retiring from academia, Miller redirected his energies to pursue his passion for the arts. He began painting and writing with renewed vigor. Although he is primarily a self-taught painter, Miller’s art has been featured in numerous exhibitions, including shows at the Philadelphia Sketch Club, the Wayne Art Center, and the Delaware County Community College. His works are in private collections across the United States.

Miller’s paintings are deeply personal and often reflect his intellectual interests. They explore themes of memory, identity, and emotion, imbued with an intricate and varied palette that reflects his appreciation for the beauty of color. Despite his diverse pursuits, Miller’s artistic vision remains singular and focused, infused with the same intellectual rigor and curiosity that marked his academic career.
