James Gallagher is a collage artist whose work explores the themes of human form and personal identity. With his artwork being showcased in galleries around the globe and published in a variety of books and magazines, Gallagher is an established artist in the contemporary art world. He is also known for co-editing the book Cutting Edges: Contemporary Collage and curating numerous international collage exhibitions.
In 2013, Gallagher launched the contemporary art magazine Secret Behavior, which he publishes, edits, and serves as creative director for. He has also earned a BFA from The School of Visual Arts in New York City.
Gallagher’s contributions extend beyond creating art, as he serves as the Creative Director for the Museum of Sex in NYC and teaches as an Instructor at Parsons the New School for Design. He resides in Brooklyn with his wife and three children.
